Follow the sparks

To find your venture, follow the sparks…

What do I mean by sparks?

I see sparks as those intuitive hits of inspiration that call you forward and tell you you’re on the right track.

For me, a trail of sparks led me toward becoming a coach...

* in middle school I had a teacher who saw each of us a whole person, and inspired us to be our authentic selves. I felt a longing and desire to be like her one day.

* in high school and college, I enjoyed tutoring and mentoring, and later on in my working career, I found it very meaningful to develop interns and staff.

* when I handed over the leadership of SongRise, the women's social justice a cappella group I co-founded, it was incredibly fulfilling to support others in stepping into leadership roles where they could shine with their unique strengths and brilliance.

These are just a few of the sparks that I've followed toward what I do now. At the time I had no idea where they would lead me, but I did have a strong sense in my heart and soul that I was on a path that was aligned for me.

What are your sparks?

(If you're not sure, that's okay!)

Spark will be the first ingredient of powerful social entrepreneurship that we'll explore in the Changemakers Circle, starting in January. The other key ingredients that we'll delve into on a monthly basis will be Justice, Resilience, Value, Visibility, and Learning.

If you are embarking on a venture or exploring a new wing of an existing venture, you might be interested in learning more about the Changemakers Circle. In this 6-month incubator from January to June, circle members will each design, implement, and learn from a prototype – a smaller version of their ultimate vision for their venture or a new stream of their work. The circle is open to purpose-driven women and non-binary folks.

Looking forward to being in community as you bring your vision to life!!
